In addition to social chess we have a team that plays in local, county and national competitions. Many children represent the town and Yorkshire.  The school chess club, run by Mr. Walker meets each Monday and Friday lunch-times.  From this group children are selected to attend the Wednesday evening practice from which teams are selected.  Mr. Walker organises the Rotherham Chess Association in which our teams compete.
